Drag and drop a PDF file here
How to use
- Open the PDF you need to sign.
- Draw your signature in the box with a mouse or finger, or upload a signature image (PNG or JPG).
- Drag the signature to the right spot on the page preview and adjust its size. Use Previous and Next to move between pages.
- Choose this page only or every page at the same position, then press Sign PDF to download the signed file.
When to use it
Employment contracts, leases, consent forms, invoices and quotes often arrive as PDFs that need a signature before you send them back. Instead of printing, signing and scanning, you can add your signature in the browser and reply with the file in a minute. If you have an image of a company seal or stamp, you can place it the same way.
Two ways to create a signature
Draw: Sign in the box with a mouse, trackpad, finger or stylus. On phones and tablets a finger gives the most natural result. Choose black or blue ink; blue signatures are popular on contracts because they look like an original when printed. The drawn signature is automatically trimmed to remove empty space and saved with a transparent background, so it will not hide lines or text underneath.
Upload image: Use a signature or stamp image you already have (PNG or JPG). For the cleanest result, prepare a PNG with a transparent background using a scanner app or an image editor.
Positioning and size
Drag the signature on the page preview to move it. The size slider sets its width relative to the page width; 20–30% suits a typical signature line. The preview and the final file use the same coordinates, so the signature lands exactly where you placed it on screen. Rotated pages and pages with cropped margins are handled as they appear on screen.
Image signatures vs digital signatures
This tool adds a signature image. A digital signature, used by certificate-based services and e-signature platforms, applies cryptography to confirm who signed and to prove the document has not changed since. An image signature has no such verification, so use it where the other party accepts one, such as internal approvals, simple consent forms or quotes. For property deals, loans or anything where identity must be verified, follow the method the institution requires.
Privacy
A signature is personal and sensitive. This tool processes both your signature and the PDF entirely on your device and never uploads or stores them. On a shared computer, keep the downloaded file and close the browser tab when you are done.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a signature added this way legally valid?
- This tool places an image of your signature on the PDF, much like signing on paper and scanning it. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. Many everyday agreements accept image signatures, but rules vary by country and by the type of contract, so check with the other party for anything important.
- Can I use a stamp or company seal?
- Yes. Choose Upload image and select your stamp. A PNG with a transparent background looks best; a photo of a stamp on white paper will include the white background.
- I need to sign several pages.
- Choose "Every page, same position" to sign all pages at once. If each page needs a different position, sign one page, open the downloaded file and repeat for the next page.
- How do I position the signature precisely?
- Click the signature or reach it with the Tab key, then use the arrow keys to nudge it. Hold Shift for bigger steps. Clicking an empty spot on the page moves the center of the signature there.
- Is my signature uploaded or stored?
- No. Both the signature and the PDF are handled only in your browser and never sent to a server. When you close the page, the drawn signature is gone.
- Can I remove the signature later?
- The signature becomes part of the page content, so it cannot be switched off in a PDF reader. If you made a mistake, start again from your original PDF, which is never modified.
