Free Image Tools – Compress, Resize and Convert Images
Compress photos, resize images and convert between PNG, JPG and WebP for free with nothing to install. Process many images at once; your photos stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- Compress Image
Shrink photos and images by choosing a quality and maximum size. Compress many images at once and download them individually or as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
- Resize Image
Resize photos and images by percentage or to exact pixel dimensions. Keep the aspect ratio or set an exact width and height, process many images at once and download them as a ZIP.
- Image Converter
Convert images between JPG, PNG and WebP. Choose a background color for transparent areas and a quality level, convert many images at once and download them as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
Image tools that never upload your photos
Most online image converters upload your pictures to their servers to process them. That is a concern for family photos, copies of ID documents or product shots that are not public yet. The tools here use the image features built into your browser, so your files never leave your device. Re-saved images drop EXIF metadata such as GPS location and camera details. If the compressor keeps an original because it cannot make it smaller, that original keeps its metadata too.
What you can do
- Compress photos by choosing a quality level and a maximum size, to fit upload limits on forms or make website images load faster.
- Resize images by percentage or to exact pixel dimensions, keeping the aspect ratio or setting an exact width and height.
- Convert between JPG, PNG and WebP, for example when a WebP saved from the web will not open, or when a PNG photo is too large to email.
Every tool accepts many images at once, and you can download the results one by one or together as a single ZIP file. To combine photos into one document, use JPG to PDF.
Which tool should I use?
If a website says your file is too large, start with the compressor: lowering quality and size together gives the biggest savings. If a site asks for specific dimensions, such as 1200 pixels wide, use the resizer. If a file will not open, or a form accepts only JPG, use the converter. Each tool shows the new file size and dimensions next to the original, so you can check at a glance that the result meets the requirements.
Good to know
Processing speed depends on your device. For dozens of photos over 4,000 pixels wide, a computer is faster and more reliable than a phone. Most browsers cannot open iPhone HEIC photos, so choose Most Compatible in the iPhone camera settings to save photos as JPG. Animated GIFs are processed as their first frame only.
