Free PDF Tools – Merge, Split, Convert and Organize PDFs
Merge, split, compress, sign, rotate, reorder and watermark PDFs, add page numbers, and convert between JPG and PDF. Files stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- Merge PDF
Combine several PDF files into one document in the order you choose. Files are merged inside your browser and never uploaded to a server. Free, no sign-up.
- Compress PDF
Shrink scanned or photo-heavy PDFs without uploading. Recompress embedded images when supported to keep text selectable, or convert whole pages to images for extra savings.
- Reorder PDF Pages
Change the order of pages in a PDF by dragging thumbnails or using the arrow buttons. Works in your browser; the file is never uploaded. Free and private.
- Rotate & Delete PDF Pages
Rotate individual PDF pages or the whole document, and delete pages you do not need. See thumbnails, then save a corrected copy. Files never leave your device.
- Split PDF
Split a PDF by page ranges, every N pages, or by picking pages from thumbnails. Several results download together as a ZIP. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
- JPG to PDF
Turn JPG and PNG images into a single PDF. Choose A4, Letter or the original image size, set orientation and margins, and keep photos the right way up. No upload.
- PDF to JPG
Convert every page of a PDF into a JPG image at screen, standard or print resolution, with adjustable quality. Multiple pages download as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
- Add Page Numbers
Number the pages of a PDF in any of six positions, with formats like 1, 1 / N or Page 1 of N. Set the first number and apply to all or some pages. No upload needed.
- Add Watermark to PDF
Stamp a text or image watermark such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT onto PDF pages. Set size, opacity, angle and color, repeat it across the page, and choose which pages. No upload.
- Sign PDF
Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, or upload a signature image, and place it anywhere on a PDF. Drag to position, resize, and add it to one page or every page. Nothing is uploaded.
PDF tools that never upload your files
Most online PDF services work by uploading your document to their servers, processing it there, and sending the result back. That is a problem when the file is a contract, a medical record, a tax return or anything else you would not email to a stranger. The tools on this page take a different approach: the PDF is opened and rebuilt inside your browser. Your file never leaves your computer or phone, and you can confirm that by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads. The tools keep working.
What you can do
- Merge several PDFs into one document in the order you choose.
- Split a PDF into separate files, or extract only the pages you need.
- Organize pages with a thumbnail grid: drag to reorder, rotate pages that were scanned sideways, and delete blank or unwanted pages.
- Convert photos and scans from JPG to PDF, or turn each page of a PDF into a JPG image.
- Compress scanned or photo-heavy PDFs to fit email and upload limits. Embedded-image compression keeps text selectable when supported; converting whole pages to images does not.
- Sign a PDF by drawing your signature or placing a signature image where it belongs.
- Finish a document by adding page numbers or a text watermark such as “Draft” or “Confidential”.
Limits and troubleshooting
Because everything runs on your device, speed depends on your hardware. Large files work best on a desktop browser; on phones we recommend keeping the total under about 50 MB. The tools will warn you when a file is large but will not stop you from trying.
Password-protected PDFs cannot be edited until the password is removed with the software that created them. If a file fails to open, it may be damaged or may not be a real PDF. Opening it in your usual PDF reader and saving a fresh copy usually fixes the problem. Scanned documents are images, so the text inside them cannot be selected or searched unless the scan was processed with text recognition beforehand.
When the result is a single file it downloads straight away. When a job produces several files, such as a split into separate pages, they are bundled into one ZIP archive so you only need to save once.
